It’s important to find the right therapist for your needs.
Our Team
THERAPIST
Portia Pendleton, LCSW
After nearly a decade in the mental health field, I started my private practice in September 2020.
I enjoy using a relational approach in order to maximize the therapeutic relationship, as this is the anchor for treatment. I enjoy working with adolescents, teens and adults, as they often navigate so many transitions and issues that can arise such as anxiety, eating issues, relationship challenges, changes in mood, and large approaching life decisions.
I use Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills and other modalities I have received training in to best provide you with individualized support. I use a trauma informed lens as well as the HAES model with all clients.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or inadequate, I can help you. If you find yourself making the same choices despite wanting different outcomes, I can help you. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space so that you can better understand yourself, your relationships, and your patterns of behavior. Together, we will discover root causes to current problems and directly address the underlying source of distress so that change is effective and long-lasting. In addition to gaining more self-awareness, you will be able to create a new narrative for yourself and learn skills that will translate from the therapy room to the outside world. I use an integrative approach to therapy, which combines relational, emotion-focused, and evidence-based practices. My style is collaborative, warm, empathic, and authentic. I am passionate about the work I do and am deeply committed to your care.
